Abstract<\/h2>\n

Objective<\/strong>: Development and justification of yoga therapy methods for partial, complete loss, as well as distortion of the sense of smell.<\/p>\n

Methods and participants: <\/strong>A total of 263 questionnaires were completed, from which 3 groups were subsequently formed by random sampling. 140 people were able to provide test results confirming the coronavirus infection. Individual participants could be in several groups at the same time as a result of random sampling. Thus, we were able to form three groups of participants: «Main 1» (n=104); «Main 2» (n=79) and «Control» (n=174), collecting 357 results in total. The age of the participants ranged from 12 to 68 years. At the start of the study, the duration of olfactory dysfunction in participants ranged from 1 day to 12 months. Two methods were used as an assessment: the odorimetric set of V.I. Voyachek and the modified visual analog color scale.
\nThe main groups performed yoga breathing practices three times a day for five days. The control group did not undergo any special interventions.<\/p>\n

Results:<\/strong> The developed and experimentally substantiated set of breathing exercises for five days of use led to an improvement in symptoms by 53%, according to the odorimetric test of V. I. Voyachek, and by 36%, according to the subjective assessment of participants on a color visual analogue scale.<\/p>\n

Conclusions: <\/strong>Prevention and treatment of olfactory dysfunction are not well understood and need more research. But the data obtained can already be used by specialists and included in the rehabilitation program to restore the sense of smell after suffering a coronavirus infection.<\/p>\n
