Abstract<\/h2>\n

Objective<\/strong>: To develop a yoga therapy complex with derotation techniques for people with scoliosis<\/p>\n

Methods and participants: <\/strong>The study involved 10 people aged 23 to 35 years. The following assessment methods were chosen: Scoliometry according to Bunnell in three sections: upper thoracic (T3-T4), thoracic (T5-T12), thoracolumbar (T12-L1 or L2-L3). Scoliometry is characterized by high sensitivity (83.3%) and specificity (86.8%). Walter Reed Visual Appearance Assessment Scale and questionnaire. They were developed to identify the patient’s awareness of body deformation, his self-acceptance and clarification of the patient’s general socialization. Filling was done at the beginning, during and at the end of the work. The opinion of the patient, relative and doctor was assessed. Based on the completion of the Walter Reed scale, an assessment is made of the respondent’s degree of objectivity, and the patient’s, parent’s, and physician’s feelings are compared. The scale and questionnaire have been proven to be highly valid, and they correlate with Cobb angles. The complex was selected for each participant individually and contained derotation techniques.<\/p>\n

Results:<\/strong> All study participants who completed the exercise program prepared for them for 2 months showed positive changes in scoliometrics and the Walter Reed assessment scale. According to the scoliometric assessment, a correlation was found between the degree of the arc and the reduction in deformation: the larger the arc, the better it can be corrected. With grade 2 scoliosis, the improvement reached 18.9%, with grade 3- 20.6%, with grade 4- 21.76%. The practical significance is that this study, aimed at reducing the deformation of the trunk in the horizontal plane, allows to improve the aesthetic appearance and self-perception in patients with idiopathic scoliosis.<\/p>\n
