New protocol<\/h1>\n<div style=\"width: 50%; float: right;\">\n<p align=\"right\"><strong>Vorobyeva I.V. <\/strong><br \/>\n Yoga therapist, ITSO graduate. <\/p>\n<p align=\"right\"><strong>Agapkin S.N.  <\/strong><br \/>\nITSO Rector, PhD Moscow, Russia.<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\"><strong> <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Abstract<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>: To determine whether a yoga therapy complex consisting of exercises for stretching large muscle groups and certain types of breathing affects the thickness of the vascular wall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Methods and participants: <\/strong>Initially, 13 people took part in the study. For various reasons (injuries not related to participation in the study, moving, family circumstances), 5 people did not reach the final. The remaining 8 participants studied for 1.5 months, performing the proposed yoga therapy complex, which consisted of stretching asanas and breathing techniques. The complex took 35-40 minutes and was performed daily. To monitor the dynamics of the indicators, the ultrasound method of the BCA with measurement of the intima-media complex was used, which showed the thickness of the vascular wall before and after the study. In addition, it was decided to additionally conduct daily blood pressure monitoring for each participant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results:<\/strong> The proposed yoga therapy complex did not affect the thickness of the vascular wall of the participants in any way, but led to a decrease in blood pressure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusions: <\/strong>It is possible that the lack of a reaction from the vascular wall is due to the insufficient duration of the classes (1.5 months), as well as the fact that in some participants the thickness of the vascular wall was within the normal range.
