Abstract
The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of yoga therapy in the rehabilitation of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) type 1 (DM1) and 2 (DM2) types, as well as an attempt to find a non-drug way to reduce polyneuropathy of the lower extremities, which occurs in this disease. As an assessment of the results, comparisons were made of measurements of blood glucose (BG), insulin sensitivity coefficients (CS), coefficients for bread units (XE), as well as comparisons of EMG results.
As a result of the study, the proposed technique made it possible to increase insulin sensitivity by an average of 25% in people with T1DM and T2DM, as well as to reduce the manifestation of polyneuropathy of the lower extremities on average in the group from 10 to 38% for different nerves.
